Art for Youth North will return to North Yorkshire for the seventh time in 2012 and is being generously sponsored by Newton Investment Management. A beautiful exhibition of paintings, etchings, photographs, ceramics and sculpture - with a special focus on artists living and working in the North.
Since 2001, Art for Youth North has taken place every two years and is now a firmly established part of the Yorkshire artistic and social scene. It enables both established and new artists to show their work and raises funds for the leading youth work charity, UK Youth. Art for Youth North has raised well over £100,000 for UK Youth.
The work on show includes oil paintings, watercolours, photographs and sculpture at prices ranging from £35 - £2000. Prints and unframed portfolio work are also available. Artists donate 30% of sales to the charity.
Mystery Pictures are also available. These are postcard-sized artworks priced at £35 each. The buyer will only know who the artist is after purchase.
UK Youth is the leading youth work charity in the UK. The charity supports over 750,000 young people nationwide helping them to develop their personal potential through a variety of non-formal education programmes.
The projects developed by UK Youth encourage social inclusion, helping some of the UK's most disadvantaged and isolated young people to build self esteem and realise their full potential.
UK Youth tackles the important issues in the lives of young people such as: coping with family break-up, bullying, how to say no to drink and drugs, support for young mothers, help for young carers and road safety.
This year Art for Youth North is also supporting one of UK Youth's Youth Achievement Foundations based in the Tees Valley.
